PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a sheet double feeding condition. SOLUTION: This sheet double feeding determining device has a sheet speed detection means C3 on a separation member side for detecting conveyance speed V2 of a sheet face on the separation member Rs2 side of sheet conveyed to a nip part N in which a paper feeding roll Rs1 and a separation member Rs2 come into pressure contact mutually, a double feeding sheet detection means C1 for detecting the existence of a plurality of sheets S during conveyance in the nip part N, and a double feeding condition determining means C4 for determining that the sheets S are not in a double feeding condition when sheet speed V2 detected by the sheet speed detection means C3 on the separation member side is V2≤0 and determining that the sheets S are in the double feeding condition when V2>0.
