PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door check device, keeping the door opening to a desired opening from the totally closing state to the fully opening state, and also opening and closing the door with good operability. SOLUTION: This door check device includes: opening operation switches Soi, Soo mounted on a door 2 hinged to a pillar 3 and turned on by door opening direction operation force; closing operation switches Ssi, Sso mounted on the door 2 and turned on by door closing direction operation force; a long plate piece-like stopper 5, one end of which is connected to the door pillar 3 by a pin, the other end entering and leaving a storing space E near the hinge part of the door; a nipping device 14 supported on the door 2 and nipping an opposite part of the stopper 5 to the storing space E to be released by an actuator 28; and a controller 37 controlling the actuator 28 to be switched between nipping and releasing of nipping k1, k2 according to the on-off state of the opening operation switch and the closing operation switch.
