PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic game recording machine for saving the labor of a recorder or players for recording a game of go, chess or shogi. SOLUTION: The automatic game recording machine is installed on a side of a board of go, chess or shogi. The machine captures a three-dimensional image at an image receive unit that corresponds to a video camera, transforms the image to a two-dimensional plan view, recognizes and judges the movement of a piece, and stores the record of the game. By utilizing the processing capacity of the image receive unit, the machine is also used for photographing records of games written in books to interpret and assimilate the records within itself. When a manual input is chosen instead of image receive processing, and especially when a tactile pressure sensitive monitor screen is used, the machine is operated easily only by pressing the position of the piece on the board.
