PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a wasteful power consumption and save a space for an air heating means in heating air for drying the hands. SOLUTION: This hand drying apparatus is provided with a body 1 having a hand insertion part 3 for inserting the hands, and the air heating means 20 incorporated in the body 1, and batteries 13 for supplying the electric power for heating the air is disposed in the body 1. When operating the air heating means 20, the power from a commercial power supply is fed to either one of an air blower 5 or the air heating device 12 and the power from a storage battery 13 is fed to the other, so that even if the power supply capacity is small, this apparatus can use a heater having a large capacity necessary for heating the large volume air.
