PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a dishwasher to detect two or more water levels. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes a float chamber 14 which is connected to a washing tub, a float 15 which is disposed in the float chamber 14 and can move vertically, a lever 16 which is associated with vertical movement of the float 15 and two or more switches 18 and 19, the operation elements 18a and 19a of which are actuated to detect different water levels in different operation positions of the lever 16 and which are disposed at the upper outside of the float chamber 14, as a water level detection means by which a low water level H2 lower than a standard water level H1 can be established.
