PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a holding characteristic from deterioration caused by the effect of a residual DC when an electrophoretic display device holds a display image. SOLUTION: There is disclosed a driving method of the electrophoretic display device having a dispersion solution containing liquid and a plurality of electrostatic charged floating particles and an electrode group consisting of at least a 1st electrode and a 2nd electrode for forming an electric field in the dispersion solution by applying voltages. When a display image is written and held, the absolute value of the potential difference between the 1st electrode and 2nd electrode is gradually decreased within a fixed period.
