PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembling ability of a transmission in an all terrain vehicle. SOLUTION: An all terrain vehicle is equipped with a transmission for an engine. An engine assembly 30 is configured such that a crankshaft 12 driven by the engine and a counter shaft 31 arranged in parallel to the crankshaft are installed in a crank case 11. A primary shaft 58 which is coaxial with the counter shaft 31 and a secondary shaft 59 which is arranged in parallel to the primary shaft are installed in a transmission case 55. A V-belt 65 is wound over a primary pulley 62, which is provided on the primary shaft 58 and has a variable width groove, and a secondary pulley 64, which is provided on the secondary shaft 59 and has a variable width groove. A transmission assembly 60 is composed of the primary shaft 58, the secondary shaft 59, and the transmission case 55. The engine assembly 30 and the transmission assembly 60 are separated independent assemblies. The transmission assembly 60 is mounted on the engine assembly 30 by fastening the transmission case 5 to the crank case 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
