PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the handling of a spray gun to enhance workability in coating work. SOLUTION: The subject coating apparatus 10 is constituted so as to use the spray gun 20 having a structure for ejecting a coating material from a coating nozzle by the action of compressed air and has air piping 32 connected to the spray gun 20, a coating container 60 provided to the spray gun 20, a coating tank 41 equipped with a pressure feed pump for the coating material, coating supply piping 42 connected to the pressure feed pump of the coating tank 41 at one end thereof and also connected to the coating container 60 at the other end thereof in a detachable manner and coating return piping 44 connected to the coating container 60 at one end thereof in a detachable manner and also connected to the coating tank 41 at the other end thereof.
