SELECTION MEDIUM FOR INTRAORALLY INDIGENOUS BACTERIUM OF GENUS NEISSERIA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection medium capable of detecting an intraorally indigenous bacterium of the genus Neisseria in a sample collected from the oral cavity in good accuracy and efficiently measuring the viable cell number and to provide a method for detecting the intraorally indigenous bacterium of the genus Neisseria in the sample by using the culture medium. SOLUTION: The selection medium for intraorally indigenous bacterium of the genus Neisseria comprises only trimethoprim as a Gram-negative bacterium proliferation inhibitor. The method for detecting the intraorally indigenous bacterium of the genus Neisseria in the sample comprises culturing the intraorally indigenous bacterium of the genus Neisseria contained in the sample by using the selection medium.
