The switch mechanism, especially for a measurement instrument, has a rotating contact arm (3) held on a bearing bush (22) at a fixed bolt (20) with bearing stones (21) between them. A layer of a viscous mass (31) e.g. of oil is next to the bearing bush, to dampen the contact arm movement.
