PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure and to reduce the cost of a multi-beam scanning device which scans a broad scanning width by using an optical system having a narrow scanning width. SOLUTION: The multi-beam scanning device is provided with a single rotational deflector which deflects at least two light beams, a first image forming optical system into which at least all of two light beams deflected by the rotational deflector are made incident, an optical path deflection means which deflects respective optical paths of at least two light beams which pass the first image forming optical system, and a second image forming optical system into which each of at least two optical beams deflected by the optical path deflection means is made incident. Further, the optical path deflection means deflects at least two light beams at respectively different positions in axial direction and at a same position in tangential direction on a plane to be scanned.
