<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize CPU calculation resources at a maximum while being matched with other function processing. <P>SOLUTION: The moving picture decoding method is provided for decoding moving picture encoded data for each partial region of a moving picture signal through a CPU for simultaneously carrying out moving picture decoding and the other processing, and includes ST1 of extracting PTS (reproducing-out time management information) from an input encoded data bit stream, ST2 of extracting STC (reproducing reference time) from moving picture encoded data separated from the bit stream, ST3 of comparing PTS and STC and deciding presence/non-presence of a margin in decoding processing from the relation with a plurality of processing functions to switch ordinary computational complexity and reduced computational complexity, ST4 of applying inverse orthogonal conversion processing to an orthogonal conversion coefficient after dequantization processing when switching to the processing of the less computational complexity in ST3, and for reducing computational complexity in a series of processing for predictive processing of motion compensation, and ST5 of performing dequantization processing, inverse orthogonal conversion processing and motion compensation predictive processing with the ordinary computational complexity when switching to the processing of the ordinary computational complexity in ST3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
