PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for generating exploded view capable of easily generating exploded view of an assembly that consists of a plurality of parts. SOLUTION: The system includes an input section 101, a shape data memory 105 for storing shape data of parts constituting the assembled body, a memory 106 for storing assembling process data including assembling parts and assembling directions, an arithmetic section 102 for displaying the assembly on a display section based on the shape data, and a means 109 for determining the disposition of the parts constituting the assembly in their disassembled states, based on the assembling process data and the shape data. According to the determined arrangement position, the system displays an exploded view on the display section.
