PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method and a cooling device of a cutting blade tool which directly cools a cutting edge part and restrains chipping due to thermal fatigue. SOLUTION: This cooling device 20 to cool the cutting blade tool 12 by blasting air to a cutting edge part of the cutting blade tool 12 to cut and work a workpiece 6 has an air source 26 to produce compressed air, an air nozzle 21 provided on a tool rest 11 to blast the air from the air source 26 to the cutting edge part of the cutting blade tool 12, solenoid valves 27a to 27d provided in an air channel 25 between the air source 26 and the air nozzle 21 and a control means 31 to control driving of the solenoid valves 27a to 27d and regulates air quantity to blast on the cutting edge part from the air nozzle 21 by controlling driving of the solenoid valves 27a to 27d by the control means 31 in accordance with a cutting condition of a working portion of the workpiece 6.
