摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a quantitative and two-dimensional distribution concerning a hard spot on a living body. SOLUTION: The instrument for examining a hard spot on the living body includes a plurality of probes 20 comprising: a vibrator 26 for allowing vibration to be made incident to living tissue; and a vibration detecting sensor 28 for detecting reflected waves. Each probe 20 is successively selected by a hardness calculation change-over circuit 60, and connected to a hardness calculating part 64. The hardness calculating part 64 includes: a phase shift circuit for changing a frequency in response to a phase difference between an input waveform to the vibrators 26 and an output waveform from the vibration detecting sensor 28, so that the hardness of the living body tissue is calculated based on the frequency change. Each pressure sensor 22 detects pressing pressure, hardness data of the probes whose pressing pressure is within a prescribed range is two-dimensionally displayed in a display part 74, and then, the hard spot is examined. Pulse wave is made incident from the vibrator, and the frequency components of the incident pulse wave and the reflected wave are analyzed, so that the hard spot is examined based on the analysis of the frequency components.
