The silencer has an upper half and a lower half (1.2) of a design which is identical, similar or in mirror image to the upper one. The upper and lower halves have two receiving apertures (3.1, 3.2) for an exhaust pipe (2). One of them, in the built-in state, is a blind hole, so that the two halves can be brought to rest against each other in mirror symmetry.
