<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor which can change a driving force for moving a driven element and also can adjust the speed of the driven element. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasonic motor 50 possesses two pieces of substantially bar-shaped ultrasonic oscillators 51a and 51b, a substantially V-shaped head 53 which has a shoe 53a making contact with a driven element 15 and wings 53b and 53b' whereon the ultrasonic oscillators 51a and 51b are arranged, and a retaining means 52 which retains the ultrasonic oscillators 51a and 51b. The wings 53b and 53b' also serve as components of the ultrasonic oscillators 51a and 51b, respectively, and the shoe 53a is equipped with a center pin 54 at its center, and the wings 53b and 53b' are capable of turning about the center pin 54.
