<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security against unauthorized use of an apparatus even when authenticating a user himself/herself by his/her voice. <P>SOLUTION: At the start of use of the apparatus, an arbitrary password generated by a password generation unit 17 is notified to the user. Subsequently, the feature of inputted voice inputted by the user is extracted by a voice feature extraction unit 14 as inputted voice feature data, which is compared with identical person voice feature data previously stored in a voice feature storage unit 15 by a voice feature comparison unit 16, and a password included in the inputted voice is compared with an original password thereof by a password comparison unit 18. Then, according to the comparison result obtained by the voice feature comparison unit 16 and the password comparison unit 18 on the basis of the generated password, a control unit 11 decides the propriety of use of the apparatus for the user who has inputted the password by voice. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
