PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acetal of anα,β-dicarbonyl compound. SOLUTION: A compound represented by general formula (1): (R"O)<SB>2</SB>CRCR'(OR")<SB>2</SB>(1)(wherein, each symbol means as shown in the description), is produced by reacting a compound having a structure of R-CO-CO-R' (wherein, R and R' mean as shown above) and a monovalent alcohol having a structure of R"OH or a bivalent alcohol having a structure of HO-X-OH (wherein, R" and X mean as shown above) in a continuous mode in one vessel that is enabled by a principle of countercurrent.
