PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a dishwasher dries dishes completely but a top plate of the dishwasher inadequately, with some water drops remaining thereon, when washing and drying dishes, and that the water drops on the top plate fall down by the impact or vibration in opening/closing a door and wet the dishes again, when a user opens the door after drying operation and takes out the dried dishes from a dish basket. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes a washing tub, a washing water supply means for supplying washing water to the washing tub, a heating means for heating the washing water, a pumping means for pumping the washing water supplied in the washing tub, a washing means for jetting the washing water pressurized by the pumping means, and a drying means with hot air. The dishwasher is disposed with a thermal storage medium layer at the top plate of the washing tub. The thermal storage medium layer stores heat transmitted through the top plate at the time of a washing cycle and a drying cycle to heat the top plate during the drying cycle or standing time after drying.
