PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway device with an IP packet filtering function packaged therein, and IPv6 network system. SOLUTION: In the IPv6 network system relating to one embodiment, according to a value of a device intrinsic interface ID contained in an IP address of an IPv6 packet of an MFP device or the like connected to an IPv6 network, filtering and high-order services in IP packet transfer are functionally limited. Thus, security control in inter-network connection is performed. Further, information indicating communication contents or an apparatus attribute is contained in the interface ID, thereby performing communication control corresponding to the relevant attribute.
