PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and low fog, and a silver halide color photographic sensitive material excellent in color reproducibility and sharpness and ensuring good light fade stability of a color image. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material includes one or more photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers on a support and contains one or more compounds whose one-electron oxidized derivatives produced by one electron oxidation of the compounds are capable of releasing one or more electrons, wherein a coefficient of variation in circle-equivalent diameter of all grains in a silver halide photographic emulsion contained in the photosensitive layers is≤40%, an average surface silver iodide content is≤5 mol%, and≥50% of the total projected area is occupied by tabular grains satisfying the following conditions (i)-(vii): (i) silver iodobromide or silver iodochlorobromide tabular grains having (111) faces as main planes, (ii) a circle-equivalent diameter of≥3.5μm and a thickness of≤0.25μm, (iii) a silver iodide content of 2-6 mol%, (iv) a silver chloride content of≤3 mol%, (v) a multiple structure beyond a 5-fold structure with respect to a silver iodide distribution, (vi) a spacing of≤0.016μm between twin crystal faces, (vii) a ratio of (100) faces of≥40% in grain side faces.
