摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accurate distance measuring even at the performing time of a Doppler compensation irrespective of the frequency of a transmitting range finding signal. SOLUTION: A distance measuring apparatus transmits a range finding signal including a PN code, a PN clock and a PN epoch toward a traveling member S, receives the range finding signal to be returned from the traveling member S (11-14), detects what bit the transmitting PN code is from a predetermined bit indicated by the PN epoch (15), detects what bit the receiving PN code is from a predetermined bit indicated by the PN epoch (16). On the other hand, a time from the range finding starting time point to the time of obtaining the same detection result as a transmitting code position detecting result of its time point by a receiving code position detection, and calculates a distance to the traveling member S as a time required for reciprocating the range finding signal at the distance to the traveling member S (17-20). Thus, even when the frequency of the range finding signal to be Doppler compensated is changed, the reciprocating time is accurately counted, and the distance is accurately calculated.
