Fixture plate for oven temperature sensor self-locates within an aperture in oven wall retained by side-flanges on oven outer face

A food oven has a deep-drawn metal cooking chamber with sidewalls and a rear wall (3) with a rectangular aperture for insertion of a metal fitting (13) with a temperature sensor. The fitting is a sheet metal with shallow L-shaped side-flanges (19) resting against the outer rear wall of the oven chamber. The metal plate fitting is self-locating by virtue of its profile and closes the aperture in the oven wall. The fitting is located by a slide-fit action. Also claimed is an assembly method for insertion of the metal fitting in the oven wall.
