<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming material useful for a heat-mode response positive lithographic printing original plate, excellent in the solubility difference with a developing solution between in an exposed part and in an unexposed part (called as solubility discrimination), and having a small degree of changes in the developing property over aging after exposure (favorable post exposure delay). <P>SOLUTION: The image forming material has an image forming layer on a supporting body, the image forming layer containing at least: (A) a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble polymer compound; (B) a photothermal converting agent; and (C) a polymer compound having a structural unit expressed by general formula (1). In formula (1), X represents a connecting group constituting the polymer main chain; Y represents a single bond or a divalent connecting group linking X and Z<SP>-</SP>; Z<SP>-</SP>represents a substituent having an anionic structure; and M<SP>+</SP>represents a counter cation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
