PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation inhibitor and a therapeutic agent for diseases caused by proliferation of the vascular smooth muscle cells. SOLUTION: The vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation inhibitor comprises NCS (neocarzinostatin) or a polymer type NCS (isothiocyanate) derivative in which the NCS is bound to a polymer as an active ingredient.
