PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double safety hook capable of enhancing the safety for slipping-off of a wire etc. and heightening the easiness in the mounting and removing operations for the wire etc. on/from a hook member. SOLUTION: The double safety hook is equipped with the hook member 2, a slipoff preventive piece 3 whose base end is pivoted rotatably on the base of the hook member 2 and tip can abut from inside to near the forefront of the hook member 2, an energizing means 5 for slip off prevention to put the piece 3 in pressure contact with near the forefront of the hook member 2 in such a way as blocking the opening 12 of the hook member 2, a restricting piece 4 arranged along the piece 3 and capable of being engaged from outside with the forefront of the hook member 2, and a changeover holding means 6 to hold the restricting piece 4 with respect to the hook member 2 or the piece 3 with the position capable of being changed over between the lock position in which the tip of the piece 4 is put in pressure contact and engagement with the forefront of the hook member 2 and rotation of the piece 3 to the open side can be restricted and the disengage position in which the slipoff preventive piece 3 can be opened and closed.
