PROJECTION SYSTEM UTILIZING SPATIAL FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection system capable of adjusting color balance.

SOLUTION: The projection system comprises a light source; a spatial filter having a slit for adjusting the angle of divergence or etendue of light radiated from the light source; a light separator for separating light passing the spatial filter by colors; a scroll unit having at least one spiral lens disk which has cylindrical lenses spirally arranged and is provided so as to be rotatable and scroll light separated by the light separator; a light valve which processes light passing the scroll unit by an image signal to form a color image; and a projection lens unit which enlarges and projects the color image formed by the light valve on a screen. The area of a color bar is adjusted with the spatial filter to improve color gamuts, and color balance is adjusted to improve the image quality.
