PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which is capable of relaxing restrictions on the layout of lead terminals. SOLUTION: The optical module 1a is equipped with a mounting part 9, a connection member 5, and an electronic device 7. The mounting part 9 is equipped with an inner surface 9a, an outer surface 9b, a mounting unit 15, through holes 9c and 9d, and lead terminals 17, 19, and 21. The mounting unit 15 is provided on the inner surface 9a and equipped with a mounting surface 15a extending along a first reference plane. The first reference plane intersects the inner surface 9a and the outer surface 9b. A cavity 13 is divided by the first reference plane into a first region 13a and a second region 13b. An internal lead terminal 17b is provided in the first region 13a of the cavity 13. The connection member 5 is equipped with a bent part 5a, a fixed part 5b, a bonding part 5c, and a connection part 5d. The fixed part 5b is fixed to the internal lead terminal 17b.
