PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate of a magnetic disk capable of preventing a head clash trouble and a thermal asperity trouble even when a texture is formed by polishing the surface of the glass substrate and suited to the achievement of a high recording density. SOLUTION: According to the method for manufacturing the glass substrate of a magnetic disk, after the polishing process of adding a texture to the main surface of the glass substrate, a processing liquid is supplied to the main surface of the glass substrate, and the main surface of the glass substrate is cleaned by pressing a tape thereto.
