PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rewrite a nonvolatile memory of peripheral equipment subjected to USB connection onboard by allowing a USB host to support a vender request for instructing the download of nonvolatile memory rewrite data. SOLUTION: A maintenance program 5 of a PC1 instructs a USB host driver 60 to prepare and transmit the vender request for downloading the rewrite data 2 of a storing part 3 to a printer 8. A nonvolatile memory rewrite program 13 of the printer 8 rewrites the data of the nonvolatile memory 10 with the rewrite data 2 received through a USB host controller 7, a USB function controller 18 and a USB function driver 90. In addition, a rewrite control program 14 controls the nonvolatile memory rewrite program 13 by detecting a particular operation performed by a power source monitoring part 11 and an operating/displaying part 12 to download the rewrite data 2 and to rewrite the nonvolatile memory 10.
