PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize remote monitoring of an electronic device without lowering the security of a LAN. SOLUTION: Monitored image forming devices 120 and 130 connected to a LAN 100 are connected. Between the LAN 100 and the Internet 300, a proxy server 150 sets up a firewall. A monitoring device 140 outputs notification information indicating states of the image forming devices 120 and 130 after conversion in a protocol that passes through the firewall.
