PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an image with high picture quality without any micro-gloss non-uniformity by easily suppressing the generation of the micro-gloss non-uniformity. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is provided with: an image forming means 1; an image carrying belt 3A for carrying an unfixed toner image 2A; a heating means 4A for heating the image carrying belt 3A; a pressing means 5A having a pressing part PN for pressing the image carrying belt 3A in a state that the image carrying belt 3A and a recording sheet 9 are overlapped with the toner image 2A interposed therebetween; a cooling means 6A for cooling the image carrying belt 3A and the recoding sheet 9 which have passed the pressing part PN as they are overlapped; and a peeling part 7A for peeling the recording sheet 9 which has passed the cooling means 6A from the belt 3A. Let the temperature of the image carrying belt 3A before entering the cooling means 6A be T1(°C) and the temperature after passing the cooling means 6A be T2(°C).
