Sealing occurs by means of at least one non-vulcanized rubber billet which contains a blowing agent and which is inserted into the sealing gap (4) prior to assembly or by means of a non-activated plastic billet (1) (activating billet) which contains a blowing agent and which is vulcanized or activated by heat, once the shape of the sealing gap has been finally embodied, said billet being elastified when the volume thereof expands and filling the sealing gap in a secure sealing manner. The activating billet, (1) which has a resistor heating element (2) incorporated therein for the heating thereof, said resistor-heating element being able to be connected to a voltage source, can be inserted into the sealing gap on its own or combined with an elastic sealing billet (7). Several sealing segments can be joined via the activating billet to form a large single-pieced sealing element. |
