A stripping mechanism (30), for a fixing roller, for stripping receptor elements adhering to the roller of a fixing device (10) and including at least one simplified stripping element. In order to strip a receiver sheet sticking to the roller using a simplified stripper design, a long flexible stripping finger (40) is used. Devices (42) are provided for easy releasable accommodation of the stripping finger so a large area of the stripping finger is supported to increase the rigidity of the finger.
