PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing a 3D dancing avatar by using a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to view a 3D dancing avatar implemented as a 3D stereo-scopic image together with music selected to be reproduced in a mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal includes a 3D engine for displaying 3D dancing avatar display and reproduces 3D dancing avatar contents data downloaded from a 3D dancing avatar providing server(104) as a 3D stereo-scopic image. The 3D dancing avatar providing server(104) is a provider server for fabricating various 3D activity contents data of avatar according to each music file characteristics. A 3D avatar database(106) stores avatar downloaded by a subscriber from the 3D dancing avatar providing server(104) and various 3D activity contents data of the avatar. The subscriber checks the downloaded 3D avatar-related activity contents particulars through the Internet(110). A billing server(108) receives billing-related information on the downloaded avatar and the avatar activity contents data, and generates billing particulars of each user.
