PURPOSE: A method for automatically processing a message box is provided to efficiently manage messages to be separately kept or junk messages, and protect a private life by setting up locking for specific messages. CONSTITUTION: The operation of a mobile communication terminal is started(301). The mobile communication terminal receives a short message(302). The received short message is displayed on an LCD display unit of the mobile communication terminal(303). A key input signal is inputted(304). If a termination key signal is inputted, the corresponding operation is terminated(320). If a confirmation key signal is inputted, it is judged whether the inputted message signal is different from a preliminarily stored message signal(305). If not, the operation is terminated. If so, it is asked whether a new message box is to be created(306). It is decided whether the new message box is to be created(307). If so, the new message box is created(308). The inputted message is moved to the new message box(309). If the new message box is not generated, it is asked whether the message is to be moved to another box(310). It is judged whether the message is to be moved to another box(311). A box to keep the message is selected(312). The message is moved to the selected box(313).
