<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microprocessor and a detection method of module replacement in its system capable of making inappropriate replacement extremely difficult without impairing facility of repair of the system. <P>SOLUTION: In order to detect replacement of a module to be characterized by a serial number in a microprocessor system, a code number to be obtained by using an encryption method from the serial number and information required for calculating the serial number from the code number are stored in this microprocessor system, the code number is read, a serial number which is not encrypted is calculated using the information from the code number, an obtained decoded serial number is compared with a serial number of the module and when the serial number of the module does not coincide with the decoded serial number, the module is detected to be replaced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
