<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unauthorized copying and usage for digital information. <P>SOLUTION: In separate devices having identical recording reproducing system, a CPU 10 captures information unique to a recording medium (for example, a serial number) from the recording medium (a hard disk 6, in this case) in order to allocate areas for storing management information on different areas. Based on this unique information, a management area allocation address for recording the management information for the digital information is calculated and stored to a flash memory 9. The CPU 10 captures the management area allocation address stored to the flash memory 9, and transfers the captured management area allocation address to a file system 8. The file system 8 performs reading and writing of data for the hard disc 6, using the management area allocation address. This enables each of the recording reproducing devices to be allocated with different management areas, and the management information is not allowed to read among the different recording reproducing devices. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
