PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve keeping quality of a flower of a plant belonging to the genus Petunia.

SOLUTION: A method for creating the plant belonging to the genus Petunia is characterized as follows. A DNA encoding an ethylene receptor of a melon or a DNA that is an amino acid sequence in which one or a plurality of amino acids in the amino acid sequence of a protein having a histidine kinase activity without ethylene bonding are deleted, added and substituted and encodes the protein is transferred into the plant belonging to the genus Petunia.
