<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an operating part when two housings are opened and closed in a portable terminal in which these housings are interconnected rotatably and rockably. <P>SOLUTION: The portable terminal is provided with a first housing 2 whose one surface 2a is provided with an operating part, a second housing 3 which can be overlapped on the first housing 2 oppositely to the surface 2a and a connecting part 4 for connecting those first and second housings 2 and 3 so that they can rotate around a first axial line L1 following the overlapped direction, and that they can rock around a second axial line L2 orthogonal to the axial line L1. The connecting part 4 is provided with first and second driving mechanisms 103 and 104 for relatively rotating those two housings 2 and 3 around the two axial lines L1 and L2. The portable terminal is also provided with first and second detecting means 105 for detecting the relative angles of those two housings 2 and 3 around those respective axial lines L1 and L2 and a control part for controlling the operations of the first and the second driving mechanisms 103 and 104 based on the detection results of those two detecting means 105. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
