PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new production method by which ceramic powder which has high crystallinity and excellent dielectric properties can be obtained. SOLUTION: Barium carbonate (BaCO<SB>3</SB>) powder and titanium oxide (TiO<SB>2</SB>) powder as raw materials are weighed and mixed so as to be a molar ratio of Ba/Ti satisfying 1.0, and the mixture is calcined at 1,000°C, so that, by synthesis according to a solid phase method, barium titanate (BaTiO<SB>3</SB>) powder is obtained. Then, the barium titanate powder after the synthesis is charged to a sealed vessel filled with water or a barium hydroxide aqueous solution of pH≥7, and heat treatment is performed for 60 min in a state where each is held at≥80°C, so that the barium titanate powder is obtained.
