PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image retrieval method, device and program, capable of efficiently retrieving an image even if the image is blurry. SOLUTION: A characteristic of a keyword or an image, and image data are correlated and stored in a storage means, and the image is retrieved from the storage means by use of one of first retrieval using a selected keyword or characteristic, second retrieval using a keyword or a characteristic corresponding to a selected image, third retrieval executing OR retrieval of the keyword or the characteristic corresponding to the image selected from the preceding retrieval result, and fourth retrieval executing AND retrieval of the keyword or the characteristic corresponding to the image selected from the preceding retrieval result.
