PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve security in erasing of destination data by a user by preventing the data from being left on a storage medium although they are apparently erased. SOLUTION: This method comprises steps of determining whether or not an erasing unit in the erasing of destination data corresponds to a part of data or all data in a destination information management module mounted on data communication equipment; entirely filling the record concerned, when it is determined that the erasing unit corresponds to a part of data, with invalid data such as NULL; and erasing, when it is determined that the erasing unit corresponds to all data, a designation data file itself after filling all the records with invalid data such as NULL.
