PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication support system that makes it possible to know a partner's activities indirectly to the extent that there is room to anticipate the activities in such a way as to maintain the partner's privacy. SOLUTION: As reference data for analyzing the behavioral pattern (name of behavior) of a user carrying a communication terminal device, changes in brightness corresponding to the behavioral pattern are registered in advance in a server connected to a communication network, and then ambient brightness data are sent at certain time intervals from the communication terminal device to the server. When there is an inquiry from other communication terminal device as to what the user of the particular communication terminal device is doing, the server compares the latest brightness data received from the particular communication terminal device to the previously registered reference data to determine a very likely behavioral pattern to be sent to the communication terminal device which made the inquiry, as the name of behavior which the user of the particular communication terminal device is likely doing.
