PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolyester fiber with low terminal modulus despite having high mechanical strength and high modulus. SOLUTION: The copolyester fiber is made from a copolyester in which terephthalic acid component and 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylic acid component accounts for≥90 mol% to the total acid component. The copolyester fiber meets the following requirements: (1) tensile strength is≥1 GPa, (2) elastic modulus is≥40 GPa, and (3) terminal modulus is≤0.2 GPa. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
