<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a memory card in which popping out of the memory card can be prevented and no operation failure occurs. <P>SOLUTION: The socket is constituted by providing an elastic contact 23 to a housing 3, which is brought into an elastic contact with a surface along the direction that an injecting member is slid to a housing 3 when the ejecting member is pushed into a retaining position, where at least the contact terminal of the memory card MC and a contact are brought into contact with each other. Thus, with the frictional force due to contact pressure of the elastic contact part 23 and the ejecting member reducing the popping out force of the memory card MC, the memory card MC can be prevented from popping out. Furthermore, since the ejecting member does not receive any frictional force from the elastic contact 23 in a position which is shallower than the contact position, no operation failure occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
