PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily install a basement for buoyancy and make the strength uniform. SOLUTION: A basement 14 for buoyancy having a lower density than the ground 2 is buried in the lower part of a foundation 1 of a building 1 installed on the ground 2, and in the basement 14 for buoyancy, two or more split parallelepiped foundation blocks 25 for buoyancy are continuously formed. The adjacent basement blocks 22A, 22B for buoyancy are disposed so that the direction X of the major axis of one block 22B intersects the direction X of the major axis of the other block 22A. Even in the case of a comparatively larger basement 14 for buoyancy, two or more split basement blocks 22A, 22B for buoyancy are disposed to thereby facilitate installation work. Even if there is a portion having non-uniformity in strength in the basement blocks 22A, 22B for buoyancy, the whole basement 14 for buoyancy can keep uniform strength by disposing the basement blocks 25 for buoyancy with the directions X of major axes intersecting perpendicularly to each other.
