PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and effectively separating/purifying hyaluronic acid and/or chitin produced on a chlorella cell. SOLUTION: The method for separating/purifying the hyaluronic acid and/or the chitin produced on the chlorella cell by infecting the chlorella cell of a host with a chlorovirus comprises separating hyaluronic acid fibers and/or chitin fibers from the cells by adding mechanical vibration to the chlorella cells on the surface of which the hyaluronic acid fibers and/or the chitin fibers are accumulated, and collecting the separated fibers.
