<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator in which light transmission characteristics are made superior and uniform light emission is obtained and to provide its manufacturing method and an illumination optical cable. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminator is provided with an optical waveguide which has a core section that is used to transmit light beams and a clad section which surrounds the core section. The clad section includes dispersion bodies which are dispersed in the section.
